President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised Nigeria's security agencies following the successful rescue of 308 kidnapped victims in coordinated operations across Niger and Kwara states.
The President described the rescue as a significant achievement in the fight against kidnapping and commended members of the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, and other security agencies for their coordinated efforts.
According to the Presidency, the operation is one of the largest single day rescue missions carried out by Nigerian security forces in recent years. The rescued victims were freed during separate security operations aimed at dismantling criminal groups operating in the affected areas.
President Tinubu also directed security agencies and relevant stakeholders to strengthen intelligence gathering and early warning systems to improve responses to security threats and prevent future attacks.
He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians, stressing that the government will continue to provide the necessary support and resources for security agencies to tackle kidnapping, banditry, and other violent crimes.
The President praised the courage and professionalism of the security personnel involved in the rescue operation and urged them to sustain the momentum in ongoing efforts to restore peace and improve security across the country.
Security operations against criminal groups are expected to continue as authorities work to rescue more victims and dismantle kidnapping networks operating in different parts of Nigeria.
